Tiger ADV Days 2013 - Day 7

The morning started nice and easy.

The HD riders were up and off before us! They were heading for Sarajevo.

I first had to get myself a Green insurance certificate... So with a phone call to Allianze I had a fax copy sent to the hotel.
We were set to go to Bosnia! Mostar.

It became quickly apparent that the roads are a little rougher here...

With all that rough stuff we need some food... Kebab plate! Lovely.

It appears that although they have the Bosnian Mark here, they are happy for the Euro.
So after the food it was a push onto Mostar.

The famous 'Old Bridge' in the center of Mostar. It's a very tourist place.

From there we went on in direction of Montenegro...
We stopped at Gacko where Bruno found a hotel that's to GARMIN.

The Tiggers were parked around the back then it was time to shower and go for food.
Here's a real moody shot as we walked into town for a plate of meat.

Then a real mans plate of food...

Meat!

Cut the crap - keep the green stuff for the puffs. We need MEAT.

Tiger ADV Days 2013 - Day 5

Up early... to the sounds of cigarette lighter falling on the ground!
;-)

But it was time to get up anyway...
So the totals are getting bigger:

The first plan - to visit the ex-military airfield and hangar at Zeljava - just on the boarder to Bosnia.

Very special place.
Sud NOT to be taken light footed....

But it wasn't to be underestimated what was once happening in these areas!

After the air base we went up to the mountain top to visit the old radar station - at 1650 meters and also the newer relay station.

Once again it was clearly explained that this was (as still is) unfriendly boarder lands!

From the new relay station, we went over to the old watch tower.

Looking back down to the new relay station.

It was rather eery to see what was left behind...

<

All that climbing and worrying about mines we decided to go for some food!

Fantastic!

The next plan...
To see some sea!

The harbour village of Senj.

Wonderful....

Tiger ADV Days 2013 - Day 3

I hate rain!
Today has started with rain... And lots of it!

But it soon faded off and we were on the road over the Vrsic pass. Along the way there is a Russian chapel in memory of hundreds of Russian prisoner soldiers and some Austria guards who were killed in an avalanche.

From there onto the Slovenia - Italian boarder road.

Only to stop down to the meditation village of Hummmmmmm....

All that meditating called for FOOD.
Served by Pippi Langstrumpf...

St some point we could Take the rain gear off...

Before settling down in a farm yard full of flies, dogs and screaming kids!!!!

We NEED Beer!
