Greece 2011 - Day 8

Phew..... What a night!
Strong winds between 2 & 3 this morning!
Electricity fall out at 6 am!

I'm just gland we're not still camping.

Once up we walked down to the front and along to the harbour.
Looking back you could see the clouds hanging down on the hills!

The harbour is a lovely little thing, and nearly always has something happening.

Actually from behind the harbour is the official E4 walking route that would take you over to Lissos.

While we were at the harbour watching the locals pull out a boat, it started to rain again!
So we quickly took off to the restaurant and had our breakfast and hot chocolate!
I also had time to do a quick sketch for Sarah.

When walking back up to the rooms, it started to rain again - heavily!

:-D
You have to laugh.

So then it was an afternoon of playing cards!!!

Later the weather turned a little better and so we walked back down to the front again and back around to the harbour.
On the way down we saw some onions hanging to dry.

Around at the harbour the waves were crashing! Naturally, Stefano had to risk his luck!

Then it was time to go and have some food.
First off: Alfa beer, garlic bread and olives.

The staff, taking things easy in these times of the Greece crisis!

Then a selection of starters...

Then - out of nowhere, rain & lightening came!

Once the rains had passed, it was time for the meat!

Then the payment of the room was made to the cook of the restaurant.

Last, but not least - more chocolate cake!

Greece 2011 - Day 7

Well the weather is changing. The clouds are coming in from Libya.

A room with a view...
A Dachzelt view!

Actually, it's a good thing that the weather is changing.... 'cause my feet are burnt!

With rain on its way, we packed up and looked for a room in Sougia.

The kids loved it! They could charge their phones and poohPods!

Then the rains came....
It lightened off a little for us to walk down to the front and have another evening meal out.

As for the food - Priority one for me: MEAT!

As for Anna's choice.... A plate of GREEN!

The meal ended in a game of cards, another chocolate cake (that lasted all of 30 seconds) and an Irish coffee!

Chocolate Cake!!!

I did get my chocolate cake!
Simply wonderful!

Greece 2011 - Day 6

A special day today!

It's my Birthday... 43!
OMG!!!

I'm not getting younger - I've even got grey hairs in my beard!

But today was really special!
We saw Squeaky again! After 4 years!!!
He's still here and remembers us!
:'-)
What a wonderful surprise...

Well the day started with me getting up before dawn. I couldn't breath in the dachzelt with the front cover closed. So I got up and went walkabouts until the sun came up 8:02 am.

Then we packed up and drove over the mountain to Paleochora where we took some cash and fresh fruits.
We also took a fresh cold coffee at the harbour.

Then we drove over some twisty roads and back down to Sougia, which we like.

After a small swim with Anna we all walked into the village to get a beer or five and food....
I hope they have a chocolate birthday cake for me!?

The beer was wonderfully cold!

Minus 5.1.....
COLD!

We had mixed starters - a bit of everything. (and more beer...)
Anna was starting to get dizzy... just look at that face!
